Now, I have a personal attachment to this event as I worked on the marketing for the tournament. However, having had the good fortune to visit a variety of tournaments across the world, this one is particularly FUN. Here’s six reasons why:
- Have you ever been to a tennis tournament INSIDE an NFL stadium? Unless you come to Miami Open, you won’t. It’s a unique element of the event and offers some super lux seating options if you have the budget.
- Miami as a city is just a vibe, and the vibe carries itself all the way into the Hard Rock Stadium. There’s music pumping out from the bars, chill out areas with seating, heaps of very decent food and booze everywhere. Oh, and of course some pretty good tennis…
- You can watch tennis from the sky! Well, there is a very unique gondola that runs across many of the outer courts which is pretty cool. I recommend grabbing a Dobel Ace Paloma and sipping the iconic tournament cocktail whilst taking in the tennis from above.
- If you are feeling flush, there is a secret bar underneath the stadium by the gang at Casa Tua, super exclusive and you may even spot a few tennis players and celebs inside.
- Every year there is a swanky restaurant that pops up inside the stadium, think Zuma, think Nobu, and make sure you reserve as soon as you arrive!
- There is a bit of a party court emerging, where there is usually a phenomenal (yet respectful) atmosphere. I recommend heading to the Butch Buchholz court, or even better, secure a seat at the balcony upstairs inside the Sunset Terrace. Views for days, and shade.

Top Tennis Tournament Tip
If you are wondering when the best days to visit a tennis tournament are, personally I love attending during the mid-end of Week One.
Every court has matches all day, which means you can just enter on a Grounds Pass and see so much action from top players. There is simply not enough time/space to put them all on the Stadium or Grandstand courts (which are more $$).
